Justine McCarthy writing in the Sunday Times on the 26th of January 2014 sought to unravel the case of Sean Dunne’s former house on Shrewsbury Road known as “Walford”.
“Walford” sits on 1.8 acres and is now the subject matter of a planning application to build 4 new houses and extend the existing house.
It was purchased in 2013 for €14 million by a Cypriot registered company for whom the firm Clerkin Lynch solicitors act. They also act for Sean Dunne.
Dublin City Council on September 23rd asked the Cypriot company to “clarify the name(s) of the company directors and to provide documentary evidence that the applicant has sufficient legal interest to carry out the proposed development”.
On the 3rd of January Clerkin Lynch Solicitors lodged documents in the Registry of Deeds certifying the Cypriot company as the new owner.
